Legal Services NYC fights poverty and fights for racial, social and economic justice for low-income New Yorkers. The Montgomery County Public Defender`s Office represents poor people throughout Montgomery County in local and criminal courts, as well as county, parole, drug, family, integrated domestic violence courts, and family treatment courts. The role of the Public Defender`s Office is to provide adequate representation to poor people who have cases before one of these Montgomery County courts, as these individuals cannot afford to hire a lawyer.
